i love gold. this is an ironic statement considering how much i detested it growing up. and, i don't just enjoy wearing gold every now and again, i only wear gold. so when it came time to start thinking about engagement rings, i worried. you see, i love gold. silver is okay. together? absolutely terrible. i just couldn't imagine ever wearing gold again if Jason proposed to me with a white gold or platinum ring. i looked at rose gold, but it wasn't really an option because i had always dreamed of a Tiffany engagement ring...and they do not have rose gold. so i prepared myself for this. after jason proposed (my ring is the Tiffany Soleste)i abandoned all my lovely gold jewelery, belts, watches ect. but it didn't last long. luckily for me, my ring is a half band of diamonds with a double halo around a round diamond. so, the platinum is minimal. you mostly see rock! i still don't think i would ever wear a silver necklace with my gold watch though! the peices of above are things i currently love and use daily, and a few things i am lusting after (that plum leather key chain? I die).

basic day makeup

i have decided that i am going to do my own makeup for the wedding - a bold decision, i know. well, maybe. i have been watching a lot of tutorials. learning how to get a natural look that will also be enough coverage and good enough for photos. i think i want to do it myself because of a few bad experiences. for my brothers wedding, i looked like a...lady of the night? it was just too much and every time i look at photos that is what i focus on. i am still bouncing around the idea of getting a trial with Butter Beauty Parlour and going from there. regardless... if i want to do my own make up, i would have to make a few purchases. which i did.

these are basically the essentials that i wear everyday. i have a decent complexion so i don't need a lot of coverage. i wear a primer, invisible makeup (just to even out my tone and fine lines), an eye brightener, bit of concealer for blemishes, a highlighter, cheek and lip tint and mascara. i always always fill my eyebrows in as well. they are uncontrollable. it may look like a lot, but it is a quick process. and for a night look i might add a darker tint, eyeliner and some eyeshadow. easy as pie!

now, i know my wedding isn't until july and my skin is much more fair right now then it will be after it gets some sun - i wear SPF 40 on my face but still get a sort of sun-kissed look - so i am going to have to pick up a few more things closer to the date. as well as a few more things for the trip. (still can't believe we are going to ITALY!!)for now i will practice in case i do end up doing my wedding makeup myself.

little bean turned three!

Gracie turned three on saturday, so we had a tea party. i was just getting used to having a two year old. our little bean was spoiled by all of the people who love her. we can't say enough just how thankful we are for these people. her gramie and papa got her a new "big girl" bed...she loves it. so we just went ahead and redid her room. i can't wait to share. enjoy!

Italian Honeymoon

i am so terribly excited for our wedding. i get ecstatic thinking about that whole week! staying at the Fairmont Palliser, having a spa day with my best ladies, celebrating with our family and friends and leaving as a new married couple. but i must admit i am almost as excited about the trip to follow - our honeymoon in Italy. 

i have never been to Italy and Jason hasn't even been to Europe! we will be spending fifteen days there and while we have narrowed down our general areas to visit(Rome, Florence, Almafi Coast possibly even Nice!!) there are still so many details to think about. i am trying to do as much research as i can on quaint bed and breakfasts, family-owned restaurants, or special spots we simply can’t miss. 

i just can't wait!!
